Brett Favre and the Minnesota Vikings: Perfect Together?

According to reports coming from Minnesota, quarterback Brett Favre is making every effort to play against the New England Patriots this week.
In a news conference earlier this week, Favre was quoted as saying: "I'm willing to give it a try, I want to play, and I want to help this team win. I'm more committed today than I was before the injury. I've done it in the past, and I can do it again." -RotoWorld.com
Wait, what?
Mr. Favre you have two glaring issues with this comment that really needs to be explained, albeit I’ll never personally get one, but you all know what I’m getting at, right?
“…I want to help this team win.” Then why, sir, do you insist upon keeping yourself in a game you are performing poorly in, or physically have no business being in? Furthermore, do you think your seven to 10 TD to INT ratio helps anyone, other than your own stat line?
