Brett Favre Shines in Political Ad for Embattled Mississippi Senator

Future Hall of Fame quarterback Brett Favre may be retired from football, but he has found ways to keep busy, including a recent foray into the political realm.
As seen in this video, Favre endorsed incumbent Mississippi senator Thad Cochran prior to his June 24 Republican runoff against tea party candidate Chris McDaniel:
Favre lauded Cochran's qualifications and related the situation to his football career, according to Alexander Burns of Politico.
"I've learned through football that strong leadership makes the difference between winning and losing. And when it comes to our state's future, trust me: Mississippi can win and win big with Thad Cochran," Favre said. "Thad Cochran always delivers, just like he did during Katrina."

Favre—who was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, resides in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and attended the University of Southern Mississippi—is easily one of the most popular and influential people in the entire state.
