Buffalo Bills Left Tackle Situation: Don’t Pout About Jamon Meredith

The Buffalo Bills left tackle situation is anything but certain at this point, and for the most part has been cause for concern this offseason. But upon further inspection, Jamon Meredith offers a slight glimmer of hope going into the 2010 season.
With Demetrius Bell still sidelined, Meredith is taking the all of the first-team reps at left tackle in practices, and that may not be such a bad thing.
In 2009, Meredith saw action in eight contests, making four starts for a grand total of 264 snaps. In those 264 snaps Meredith gave up just two sacks: one to Julius Peppers in week six and one to Shaun Ellis in week 13. Bell gave up five sacks last year over eight games (all starts) and a total of 472 snaps.
Meredith was also not whistled for a single penalty in those snaps, compared to Bell, who, at the time of his placement on I.R. after week 10, held the dubious title of most penalized lineman in the league with eight accepted penalties to his credit.
