C.J. Spiller Cut by Seahawks: Latest Details, Comments and Reaction

The Seattle Seahawks announced they released veteran running back C.J. Spiller on Wednesday, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport.
Spiller made two appearances for the Seahawks, running for nine yards on three carries and catching five passes for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Releasing the 29-year-old helps Seattle avoid a potential logjam in the backfield. Jayson Jenks of the Seattle Times reported Monday that Thomas Rawls is nearing his return to the field. Taking Spiller out of the mix also allows younger running backs Alex Collins and C.J. Prosise to see more time on the field.
While the move makes sense for the Seahawks, it's a damning indictment of Spiller nonetheless. He lasted less than a month with the team after arriving in late September.
Spiller had a disappointing 2015 season as well. The New Orleans Saints released him one year into a four-year deal after he averaged a career-low 3.1 yards a carry.
