Cincinnati Bengals Agree to Terms with Cornerback/Safety Jason Allen

March 18, 2012   ·     ·   Jump to comments

The Cincinnati Bengals have agreed to terms with free agent defensive back Jason Allen, according to Evan Silva and NBCSports.com.
Allen, who was the 16th overall pick in the 2006 NFL draft, spent the first four years of his career with the Miami Dolphins before joining Houston in 2010. The former first-round pick out of Tennessee hs recorded 10 interceptions over the past two seasons.
Cincinnati had been seeking help in the defensive backfield, following the loss of cornerback Johnathan Joseph to free agency after the 2010 season.
The Bengals could potentially use Allen as both a cornerback and safety, given his experience at both positions.
Specific details of the signing have yet to be released, but it should be interesting to see how the acquisition affects Cincinnati's strategy in the upcoming draft.
