Colt McCoy Injury: Updates on Redskins QB’s Foot and Return

The door seems open for Colt McCoy to take over the Washington Redskins' starting quarterback job, but a foot injury may prevent the veteran from surpassing Kirk Cousins on the depth chart.

Report: McCoy Dealing with Cut on Foot Tuesday, Sept. 29 There was some confusion regarding McCoy not taking part in Monday's practice, but according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, his absence was due to a cut on his foot.
That injury hasn't been officially announced by the Redskins yet, as head coach Jay Gruden was vague in his assessment Monday, per Jones: "We have no injury updates until Wednesday. So we won't be talking about injuries, just so you know. Everybody's day-to-day, until Wednesday."
With McCoy on the shelf, at least temporarily, the embattled Robert Griffin III has ascended back to the No. 2 spot on the depth chart behind Cousins for the time being.
