Cutler Looking to Break McMahon’s Franchise Record for Wins

Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler enters Sunday's game against the Detroit Lions with a chance to pick up his 47th win (including the playoffs) as his team's starting quarterback, which would break Jim McMahon's post-merger franchise record of 46, per ESPN Stats & Info.
Cutler tied McMahon in Week 5, leading a comeback 18-17 win over the Kansas City Chiefs that was capped off by a seven-yard, game-winning touchdown pass to running back Matt Forte with just 18 seconds remaining.
The Bears got off to an ugly 0-3 start that included blowout losses to the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks in Weeks 2 and 3, but Chicago has surprisingly bounced back with consecutive wins to keep distant dreams of a playoff appearance alive.
Even if he can't earn his 47th win in a Bears uniform Sunday afternoon, Cutler should eventually break the record this season, as backup quarterback Jimmy Clausen has proven to be a major downgrade from the Bears' embattled starter.
