New York Giants tight end Daniel Fells will miss the remainder of the season after developing an infection that required "multiple surgeries," via Jordan Raanan of NJ.com.

Fells Had Surgery Over the Weekend Monday, Oct. 5 The Giants confirmed Fells would be placed on injured reserve after developing a staph infection in his ankle, per Dan Graziano of ESPN. Fells was expected to play throughout the week and was even listed as probable on the injury report, per Raanan, though he didn't travel with the team and tight end Will Tye was promoted from the practice squad to replace him on the roster before the game against Buffalo.
Fells' Absence Will Impact Giants' Depth in Passing Attack Fells, 32, had six receptions for 60 yards this season for the team. He was in his second year with the Giants and accumulated 16 receptions for 188 yards and four touchdowns with the team last year, giving Eli Manning a nice target in the red zone.
