Darrelle Revis Agrees To Extension With New York Jets, Ends Holdout

In what has been a whirlwind of news over the past several months, the NFL’s most popular contract holdout has come to and end. Darrelle Revis has agreed to a seven-year extension with the New York Jets.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report it via Twitter. Manish Mehta reports that it will be an additional four-years at $46 million, $32 million of which is guaranteed.
It has been said that Jets coach Rex Ryan himself flew down to Florida this past weekend to negotiate a deal. The Jets had previously offered a 10-year/$122 million deal, which was rejected by Revis.
The 25-year old Revis had six interceptions to go along with 51 tackles in 2009, solidifying himself as one of the best defensive players in the NFL. With his help, the Jets reached the AFC Championship Game for the first time since 1998.
