Former NFL offensive lineman Daryn Colledge announced Tuesday that he would be joining the Army National Guard:
Radio station 93.1 KTIK The Ticket shared more information on Colledge's decision:
Colledge, 34, started 137 games in his nine-year career with the Green Bay Packers, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins. He retired after the 2014 season.
At one point in his career, Colledge started 122 straight games. He earned a championship ring with the Green Bay Packers in their Super Bowl XLV triumph over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Packers selected him in the second round of the 2006 draft out of Boise State.
Colledge, who grew up in North Pole, Alaska, has already had another venture other than his football career, as he is a co-owner of the Three Fat Guys wine label with fellow former Packers offensive linemen Tony Moll and Jason Spitz.
