DeMarcus Lawrence Injury: Updates on Cowboys Rookie’s Recovery from Foot Surgery

As expected, the Dallas Cowboys announced Tuesday that they had placed defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence on their revocable injured reserve as he continues to recover from a foot injury suffered during training camp.    
In conjunction with Lawrence's departure from the active roster, the Cowboys have also signed former Raiders defensive end Jack Crawford:
According to NFL rules, Lawrence will not be able to practice for the first six weeks of the 2014 season and cannot play for the first eight weeks. He will be eligible to return beginning with the Cowboys' Week 9 game against the Arizona Cardinals.
A second-round pick (No. 34 overall) out of Boise State, Lawrence suffered a broken right foot in July while trying to beat offensive tackle Tyron Smith in a pass-rushing drill.
