DeMarcus Ware Contract: Latest News and Rumors on Negotiations with Broncos

The Denver Broncos reportedly contacted outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware's agent Friday in hopes of working out a restructured contract.

Broncos Open Talks with Ware About New Deal Friday, Feb. 26 Mike Klis of KUSA reported the Broncos spoke with agent Pat Dye Jr. about the situation, but the sides haven't exchanged numbers at this stage.
Ware is scheduled to count slightly more than $11.6 million against the cap in 2016, which is the final season of his current deal, per Spotrac. That's an increase of $3 million at a time when Denver is trying to create space before the new league year gets underway next month.
The 33-year-old edge-rusher showed he can still perform at a high level, though. He racked up 7.5 sacks in 11 regular-season games and added 3.5 more during the Broncos' run to the Super Bowl 50 title.
