Detroit Lions: Identifying Top Position Battles This Off-Season

Here we go Lions fans, the season is inching closer. Mini camp begins this week, and training camp is right around the corner. Then preseason starts, and before you know it the regular season is here.
For those who aren't keeping close tabs, the Lions will play their first pre-season game  August 14, against the Steelers in Pittsburgh.
Detroit kicks off the regular season in Chicago against the Bears, September 12.
So with mini camp upon us, and training camp nearing, I thought now would be a good time to analyze the top position battles heading into camp.
Please don't confuse this article with my "Predicting the Lions 53 Man Roster" series, in which I have already completed round one and two. I will continue to update those predictions both after mini camp and training camp. And then again after each Pre-season game, right up until the final cuts are made. So stay tuned and look for those!
