Dimitri Patterson Suspended by Jets: Latest Details, Analysis and Reaction

The New York Jets have suspended Dimitri Patterson for the remainder of the preseason after the cornerback went AWOL from the team last week.
The Jets announced that Patterson can return to the team on Sept. 1:
Patterson cut off contact with the team before it played the New York Giants last Friday night, per NJ.com's Dom Cosentino. Then on Sunday night, he and the Jets opened up a line of communication again.
NFL.com's Kimberly Jones reported that Patterson was suspended indefinitely by the Jets. General manager John Idzik offered a cryptic comment about his status with the team:
