Freeney Comments on Playing Status Thursday, May 12 According to Darren Urban of AZCardinals.com, the seven-time Pro Bowler discussed his preferences on ESPN's SportsCenter on Thursday: "Arizona would be a great team. But if it doesn't work out here, it could be anywhere. It just depends. It has to be a winning team. I'm used to winning."
Although Freeney appeared in just 11 games for the Cards in 2015 after signing during the season, he led the team with eight sacks. Despite his production, Freeney suggested that he would like to sign with a team prior to the start of the 2016 regular season: "I know my body loved (signing late), but the anxiety mentally wasn't good. So hopefully I can get signed before then."
