Ellis Hobbs: Eagles Corner, Kick Returner Done For Season With Ruptured Disk

Ellis Hobbs is done for the season with a neck injury, according to his agent. The Eagles' starting cornerback and kick returner reportedly has a ruptured disk in his neck and will be placed on injured reserve by the Eagles, according to NFL.com.
Hobbs was returning the opening kickoff of the second half of Sunday night's Eagles-Giants clash when he took a brutal shot to the crown of his helmet from Giants lineman Dave Tollefson. Tollefson lowered his head and drilled into Hobbs' helmet, and the player hit the ground immediately. 
He was attended to by medical staff for close to 10 minutes on the field, although he did appear to attempt to get up at one point during the treatment. 
Eagles head coach Andy Reid said that Hobbs was walking under his own power with a neck brace on after the game, and that the extent of the injury wouldn't be known until after the MRI on Monday.
