Fitzgerald Becomes Youngest Player to Catch 1,000 Passes

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald recorded the 1,000th catch of his career during Sunday's 27-3 win over the St. Louis Rams, becoming the youngest player in NFL history to reach the milestone, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN Stats & Info).
At 32 years and 97 days old, Fitzgerald entered the contest with 992 career catches, needing just eight more to become the 11th player in NFL history with 1,000 or more receptions.
It appeared he'd have to wait another week to join the club, as he finished the third quarter with six catches and his Cardinals were nursing a 21-point lead.
However, Fitzgerald caught a two passes for four and seven yards on Arizona's first two offensive snaps of the final quarter, eventually finishing his day with exactly eight catches on 11 targets, albeit for just 55 yards and no touchdowns.
