Grease Lightning: On the Chargers defense ” Speed is the word”

Speed is the word:
 
One undeniable trend that is showcasing itself when it comes to San Diego's defense now is the need for speed.
 
This started when the Chargers drafted Larry English over Rey Maualuga last season. The trend has continued through the 2010 offseason. 
 
This years draft proved to be more of the same.
 
Donald Butler,  Darrell Stuckey, Boris Lee, Travis Johnson, Cam Thomas, and Antonio Garay  are all upgrades in speed over Ian Scott, Tim Dobbins, Jamal Williams, and Kevin Ellison. 
 
The Chargers also are likely to promote Steve Gregory, who has mostly played on special teams in his four seasons in San Diego, in the starting lineup to replace Ellison. Gregory made six starts last year and was a valuable contributor on the Chargers' defense.
