Greg Hardy Indicted on Felony Cocaine Possession: Details, Comments, Reaction

A judge in Richardson, Texas, issued an indictment for free-agent defensive end Greg Hardy on a charge of felony cocaine possession Monday, according to USA Today's A.J. Perez.
Citing a police affidavit, NBC 5 in Dallas reported law enforcement officials pulled Hardy over after he failed to signal during a turn Sept. 25. After Hardy consented to a search of his vehicle, officers allegedly found 0.7 grams of cocaine in his wallet.
Hardy denied the cocaine was his, instead saying he had passed his wallet around at a party on the previous night, at which point someone placed the drug in the wallet.
Perez noted Hardy could face anywhere from 180 days to two years in jail as well as a $10,000 fine if he's convicted.
The indictment makes a return to the NFL less likely for the 28-year-old, who played 12 games for the Dallas Cowboys in 2015 and went unsigned in the offseason after his contract expired.
