J.J. Watt Injury Update: Texans DE Announces Date for Groin Surgery

Houston Texans defensive lineman J.J. Watt announced Sunday he will need surgery on his groin, per Drew Dougherty of Texans TV. The procedure is set to take place Tuesday.
"Been dealing with it for six or seven weeks now," Watt told Dougherty.
Watt had to leave Saturday's 30-0 wild-card loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in the third quarter, as the nagging groin injury became too much for him to play through.
The two-time Defensive Player of the Year and four-time Pro Bowler had another productive season for the Texans. He finished with 57 tackles and 17.5 sacks, spearheading an excellent defense that led the Texans to the postseason after a 1-4 start to the season.
The team's turnaround was little solace for Watt after Saturday's debacle, however: "Did we do some good things? Yeah. But I'm not too into that narrative. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. It's about results."
