Jacoby Jones Injury: Updates on Chargers WR’s Ankle and Return

San Diego Chargers wide receiver Jacoby Jones reportedly suffered an ankle injury during the team's Week 1 victory over the Detroit Lions. It's not expected to keep him sidelined for an extended period.

Jones' Status Uncertain Ahead of Week 2 Wednesday, Sept. 16 Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports the ailment has been identified as a sprained ankle. So far, it's unknown whether Jones will be able to suit up against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. Marty Caswell of The Mighty 1090 Sports Radio previously noted the wideout's left foot was in a boot after last weekend's game.
Jones signed with the Chargers in March following a three-year stint with the Baltimore Ravens. Along with providing receiving depth, he's also a key contributor on special teams.
The 31-year-old veteran's only contributions during Week 1 came in the third phase of the game. He returned one kickoff for 24 yards and had two fair catches on punts.
