Jamaal Charles Injury: Updates on Chiefs Star’s Knee and Return

Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles will miss the team's Week 8 game against the Indianapolis Colts because of lingering knee problems.

Charles Ruled Out vs. Colts Friday, Oct. 28 Terez A. Paylor of the Kansas City Star reported Chiefs head coach Andy Reid announced Friday that Charles will sit out the clash with the Colts. Reid also stated the decision comes after the playmaking back dealt with swelling in his knee, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
Charles is one of the league's most dynamic offensive weapons when healthy, but he's struggled to get back to full strength after suffering a torn ACL last October.
He's appeared in just three games so far in 2016, carrying the ball 12 times for 40 yards with one touchdown. He tallied a single carry in last week's victory over the New Orleans Saints after getting 11 touches the previous week against the Oakland Raiders.
