JaMarcus Russell Arrested With Codeine, Ruins Any Chance At NFL Comeback

JaMarcus Russell, recently released by the Oakland Raiders after being selected No. 1 overall out of Louisiana State, has just made a bad offseason even worse after being arrested for possession of a controlled substance. That substance is supposedly liquid codeine, or "Purple Drank," which is a mixture of the codeine, promethazyne, Sprite, and Jolly Ranchers.

According to Daniela Werner of the Mobile Press- Register (Ala.), The Mobile County Sheriff's Office arrested Russell during the middle of an undercover investigation. 
Booked at 4:22 p.m. ET, Russell has posted bail in the amount of $2,500.  He's due in court on July 20.
