Jason McCourty Injury: Updates on Titans CB’s Groin and Return

Tennessee Titans cornerback Jason McCourty had groin surgery Monday after missing more than two weeks of practice due to the ailment. His status for the early stages of the regular season is unclear.

McCourty Could Miss Season's First 3 Games Tuesday, Aug. 25 Adam Schefter of ESPN reports the veteran corner may end up sitting out regular-season clashes with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Cleveland Browns and the Indianapolis Colts. He would then have another week to get back to full strength with the Titans' bye in Week 4.
Head coach Ken Whisenhunt wasn't prepared to put an immediate timetable on the situation, however, as noted by Paul Kuharsky of ESPN.com: "It was something we thought was going to be able to be fixed through the rehab process, and it just wasn't responding as quickly as we would have liked.
