Jason Pierre-Paul Injury Update: Giants DE Officially Ruled Out of Season Opener

One day after New York Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul left for Florida without having signed his franchise tag tender, it was announced that he will not play for the G-Men in Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season.
According to the Giants' Twitter account, head coach Tom Coughlin made JPP's absence against the Dallas Cowboys official Wednesday.
The 26-year-old pass-rusher had to have his right index finger amputated after a fireworks incident on July 4. That prolonged the process of Pierre-Paul signing his tender, and a resolution did not occur in that regard Tuesday, per Ebenezer Samuel of the New York Daily News.
According to Samuel, Coughlin isn't at all worried about JPP's mindset after losing his finger. Also, Bleacher Report's Patricia Traina relayed that Pierre-Paul's hand remains Coughlin's greatest concern:
