Jason Verrett Injury: Updates on Chargers CB’s Hamstring and Return

San Diego Chargers cornerback Jason Verrett left the field with a hamstring injury during Thursday's Week 16 battle with the Oakland Raiders.

Verrett Out for Remainder of Game Thursday, Dec. 24 The Chargers announced Verrett would not return in the third quarter. He registered one tackle before exiting. 
Verrett (5'10", 188 lbs) was a 2014 first-round pick and has proved capable of playing in the slot and mixing it up effectively with bigger receivers on the outside. After playing only six games as a rookie, though, he needed to undergo season-ending surgery to repair a torn right-shoulder labrum.
The 24-year-old has stayed far more durable in his second year and has emerged as a rising star in an otherwise lost, dismal 2015 campaign for the Chargers. In Week 14, Verrett ended Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Alex Smith's streak of 312 pass attempts without an interception.
