Jets’ Damien Woody To Miss Rest of Playoffs with Achilles Injury

On Wednesday Jets head coach Rex Ryan announced that offensive tackle Damien Woody has been placed on injured reserve, which will be a major loss for Gang Green's Super Bowl run.  
Woody was to undergo surgery, fixing an injury to his Achilles that he suffered in Saturday's playoff win over the Indianapolis Colts.  Before that wild-card matchup, Woody had already missed the previous three weeks of action due to arthroscopic surgery on his knee.  
In a press conference, Ryan commented on Woody's injury by saying, "It's unfortunate.  He worked his tail off to get back and has a great challenge against him with (Colts defensive end Robert) Mathis and did a great job, and was getting ready to play his old team.  It was on the last drive; I never knew the extent of (his injury)."
Backup tackle Wayne Hunter will fill in for Woody, and Ryan believes he is the best backup offensive lineman in the NFL.  Hunter is a seven-year pro who has also played ...
