Former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Tomsula is reportedly being considered for several staff openings around the league to serve as a defensive coordinator or a defensive line coach.

Tomsula Being Widely Considered As Defensive Coach Tuesday, Jan. 5 Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com reported Tuesday "some calls [are] already coming in" for Tomsula, who is expected to have "ample" options during the offseason.
The 47-year-old Pennsylvania native spent eight years coaching the 49ers' defensive line before being selected to replace Jim Harbaugh as the team's head coach last offseason. As noted by Gregg Rosenthal of NFL.com, owner Jed York fired him Sunday night after just a single season in charge. York said the following in a statement:
