Johnny Manziel Reportedly Finalizes Plea Deal in Domestic Violence Case

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel agreed to a plea deal with Dallas prosecutors Friday, resulting in the dismissal of the domestic violence case against him.
According to A.J. Perez of USA Today, Manziel will not serve jail time and will instead undergo counseling in relation to ex-girlfriend Colleen Crowley's allegation that he struck her in January.
The former Heisman Trophy winner will also have his conduct monitored by prosecutors for up to one year and could face up to a year in jail if he breaks the terms of the plea deal.
According to Perez, the Dallas County District Attorney's office released the following statement regarding Manziel's deal: "A conditional dismissal agreement is only the beginning of the process of educating an individual on how to make better choices when facing conflict. It is an important first step for a defendant. Success or failure will depend on one's commitment to the [treatment] programs included."
