Jordan Cameron Contract: Latest News, Speculation on Negotiations with Dolphins

Just one year into his $15 million contract, the Miami Dolphins and tight end Jordan Cameron are reportedly talking about a restructuring.

Cameron, Dolphins Talking to Open Cap Space Sunday, March 6 Rand Getlin of NFL Network reported the news, noting the Dolphins are looking to gain cap flexibility. There would be a "minor" reduction in Cameron's compensation, so it's likely the deal would involve some sort of extension.
Cameron is due a base salary of $7.5 million in 2016, an onerous figure for a player who did not return to Pro Bowl form last season. He made just 35 receptions for 386 yards and three touchdowns despite starting all 16 games. Ryan Tannehill targeted him 70 times, and their 50 percent connect rate was the second-lowest on the team. (Kenny Stills caught just 27 of the 63 passes that went his way.)
