Josh McCown to Start Week 10 for Buccaneers in Place of Mike Glennon

In a bit of a surprising move, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will turn back to Josh McCown at quarterback against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 10.    
Mike Glennon, who has started the last five games under center, confirmed the news, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport:
As many were quick to point out, such as Sports Illustrated's Chris Burke and 4for4.com's John Paulsen, it's a perplexing decision from head coach Lovie Smith and his staff:
Perhaps the Bucs, who signed McCown to a two-year deal worth $10 million in the offseason, don't want to see their investment completely go to waste. Perhaps they feel McCown, who was replaced Week 3 after tearing a ligament in his thumb, deserves another opportunity to prove himself. Remember, Glennon was drafted by Tampa Bay's old regime, while McCown was signed by the current one.
But based on the way each player has looked in 2014, it's difficult to craft an argument supporting McCown over Glennon.
