Keenan Lewis Injury: Updates on Saints CB’s Hip and Return

New Orleans Saints cornerback Keenan Lewis is reportedly expected to miss at least a month of action after undergoing hip surgery Tuesday.

Saints Secondary Takes Hit With Lewis Out 4-6 Weeks Wednesday, Sept. 2 Ian Rapoport of NFL Network first reported the projected timetable following surgery. Kevin Patra of NFL.com provided further details from Rapoport, who received word it's "an injury to the hip flexor."
The early end of the estimate could have him back on the field in time to face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4 if everything goes smoothly over the next month.
It's the latest in a string of injuries to leave the Saints' defensive backfield in turmoil with the regular season right around the corner. Free safety Jairus Byrd could land on the PUP list with a knee injury, while cornerback Brandon Browner and strong safety Kenny Vaccaro have both missed camp time due to ailments as well.
