Redskins, Cousins to Resume Contract Talks Soon Friday, March 11 According to Tarik El-Bashir of CSNMidAtlantic.com, team president Bruce Allen said Friday the organization intends to resume extension talks with Cousins in the near future.
Per El-Bashir, Allen explained the reasoning behind tagging Cousins and revealed when he believes negotiations will continue: "We thought the best thing to do was the franchise tag. It made it clear where we stood with him. We had told his agent that's what we were going to do. ... As soon as free agency dies down a little bit, I'm sure his agent will engage us again in talks."
