Lawrence Taylor: Former Giants Legend Asks Rape Charges Be Dismissed

Lawrence Taylor, the former New York Giants legend and Pro Football Hall of Famer is seeking to have the rape accusations against him dismissed, citing the fact that police did not have a warrant when they arrested him.
The former NFL MVP is accused of having sex with a 16-year old female prostitute in May. He plead not guilty to the charges of third-degree rape, patrionizing a prostitute, sexual abuse and endangering a child.
Taylor's lawyer, Arthur Aidala, claims that the Hall of Famer was asleep in his hotel room when police barged in and arrested him without a warrant, thereby making any statements or admissions of guilt Taylor made invalid.
Court papers in a separate case state that while Taylor admitted to having sex with the girl, he was told that she was 19 at the time.  The motion in the present case states that the officers who arrested Taylor did not have probable cause to either arrest the former star or perform a search and seizure.
