Brett Favre has yet to officially retire for the very last time but he's already the front-runner for the "Pete Rose Award" for wasting no time in setting fire to his legacy.
Truth be told, that legacy has been smoldering for years with every press conference where he's cried, every time he's shown up late to training camp, every time he's called himself a "gunslinger" and every picture of little Brett he's texted.
Now on his Web site are a variety of items signed by the old compost slinger. If you gag at the prices, fear not. There is little doubt five years from now he'll be 50 pounds heavier and a regular on the autograph circuit, squeezing every last dime out of his legacy. While it can still be called a legacy.
OK. It might take longer than five years. A couple more NFL teams may bite. And then there's all the other so-called professional football leagues dotting the landscape. "...and starting at quarterback for the Idaho Spud Suckers, No. 4, Brrrrrrrrrett Favre!"<...
