Luke Kuechly Contract: Latest News and Rumors on Negotiations with Panthers

Linebacker Luke Kuechly is the face of the Carolina Panthers defense, and the team plans to keep it that way for at least an additional season.

Panthers Exercising Option on Kuechly Tuesday, March 24 David Newton of ESPN.com reported Tuesday that the Panthers plan to exercise their fifth-year option on the All-Pro linebacker.
This really should come as no surprise considering how effective he has been in the middle of the Carolina defense. He was the Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2012, the Defensive Player of the Year in 2013 and was named a first-team All-Pro in 2013 and 2014. He is one of the best linebackers in the NFL, and he helped lead the Panthers to the NFC South title the past two seasons.
