Mackensie Alexander Injury: Updates on NFL Prospect’s Hamstring and Recovery

Clemson's Mackensie Alexander, one of the top cornerback prospects in the 2016 NFL draft class, is recovering from a hamstring injury. He won't participate in the on-field drills at the combine as a result.

Alexander Planning to Take Part in Pro-Day Drills Friday, Feb. 26 Drew Boylhart of the Huddle Report noted Thursday the corner is still working his way back to full strength after suffering the hamstring issue during the national title game. Rand Getlin of NFL Network reported Alexander is expected to do drills at his pro day on March 10.
Alexander is likely battling Florida's Vernon Hargreaves III to become the first corner off the board in April. The Clemson star's decision to sit out combine drills shouldn't have a major impact on the race as long as he does go through drills at the Tigers' pro day.
