Marty Schottenheimer Is Close to Coaching the UFL’s Virginia Destroyers

The UFL is expanding.
Maybe not the number of teams. Probably not the amount of players. But, rather, in terms of coaching.
According to Chris Mortensen down at the four-letter network, Marty Schottenheimer, former head coach of the San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins, Cleveland Browns and Kansas City Chiefs, is close to a deal with the UFL's Virginia Destroyers. Schottenheimer, as you probably remember, was fired from his position as Chargers head coach because A.J. Smith didn't like him anymore. (Three-year-old words, guys.) If the deal is completed, Schottenheimer will be both the GM and coach.
This isn't the first coach all week to jump from the NFL to the UFL. Jerry Glanville, former head coach of the Atlanta Falcons and Houston Oilers, signed with the UFL's Hartford Colonials earlier this week.
