Matt Forte Injury: Updates on Jets Star’s Hamstring and Return

New York Jets running back Matt Forte is expected to miss the team's preseason opener due to a lingering hamstring injury.

Bowles: "Safe to Say" Forte Out for Preseason Week 1 Thursday, Aug. 4 Jets head coach Todd Bowles said Forte will likely be out for next week's game versus the Jacksonville Jaguars, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
Forte, 30, has been dealing with a hamstring injury since before camp began. 
"I headed into camp, had a slight pull, setback," Forte said Sunday, per Seth Walder of the New York Daily News. "So now we're just taking it slow so that I don't re-injure it. Hamstrings are tricky; if you re-injure it you could be set back longer."
