Miami Dolphins Sign Cornerback Terrail Lambert to Practice Squad

The Miami Dolphins have filled their open practice squad spot, signing second-year cornerback Terrail Lambert.

The Dolphins have had a practice spot open since before their Week 13 game against the New York Jets.

Lambert will wear No. 31 for the Dolphins, which was previously worn by cornerback Nate Ness (now No. 32) and veteran cornerback Al Harris before he was placed on injured reserve by the Dolphins on Dec. 7.


Background

A cousin of former Dolphins running back Lorenzo Booker, Lambert was born in Los Angeles and played college football at the University of Notre Dame.

Lambert played in 48 games for the Fighting Irish in his collegiate career, starting the final three years and totaling 115 tackles, a half sack and four interceptions.

After going undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, Lamber signed with the San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent. He was waived during final cuts on Sept. 5.
