Michael Irvin Compares Cowboys Rookie Jaylon Smith to Luke Kuechly

The Dallas Cowboys made a high-risk, high-reward selection in the 2016 NFL draft when they picked former Notre Dame standout linebacker Jaylon Smith in the second round. Smith was a collegiate superstar, but he is dealing with an injury that will likely keep him out for the 2016 season.
That didn’t stop former Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Michael Irvin from predicting big things for the incoming rookie.
Irvin appeared on KRLD-FM 105.3 in Dallas, a CBS Sports Radio affiliate, and suggested Smith would eventually be in the Hall of Fame, via Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports. Irvin also compared the former Notre Dame linebacker to one of the best defensive playmakers in the NFL:
I kept his [draft] card; I got the card right here next to me. ... I'ma hold on to this card, and when I see this kid in Canton, Ohio, I'm going to have him sign it for me.
