Mike Morgan Injury: Updates on Seahawks LB’s Recovery from Hernia Surgery

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Mike Morgan underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a sports hernia that had been a lingering issue this season.

Morgan Has Surgery, to IR Tuesday, Oct. 4 "Just finished a successful surgery; thanks for all the prayers and well wishes," Morgan wrote on Instagram. "Excited to start the rehab process and get back stronger than ever and play with my brothers again! Thankful for Dr. Meyers and his staff for taking great care of me. Don't let the smilie fool you; I'm in a lot of pain."
The Seahawks placed Morgan on injured reserve Monday, per the team's website. If he recovers in time, he could be eligible for the designated player distinction. NFL rules on IR players require they miss at least eight weeks before potentially rejoining the team.
