New York Giants: The Latest On Lawrence Taylor and Chad Jones

The ghost of the Giants past and future failed to bring the organization good fortune this week.
Giants rookie and former LSU star Chad Jones piled his car into a telephone pole around 6 AM Friday morning. There is no word on what caused the crash.
Jones is listed in critical condition and is said to have broken his left leg. According to the Shreveport Times, he is in danger of losing his left foot.
This only adds sorrow to the mixture of disgust and disappointment that ensued after Lawrence Taylor was arrested for rape earlier this week, after he allegedly paid a 16-year-old girl for sex.
The crash involving Jones, however, is far more heartbreaking.
This guy went from a two-sport star at LSU, and one of the Giants top two picks in this year's draft, to facing a possible career-ending injury before he's ever stepped onto the field.  
I gave the Giants an A for picking Jones because of his athleticism and New York's void in their secondary.
