Chargers Bring in Troy Receiver Jerrel Jernigan for a Visit
According to Bill Williamson of ESPN the Chargers, Jerrel Jernigan, the receiver out of Troy, is expected to visit the San Diego Chargers.
Jernigan is only 5'9", but he is a burner. He ran a 4.46 at the combine and he plays faster than that. His size limits him a bit as a deep threat, but his speed means you can't take your eyes off him.
As Scouts Inc. tells us:
(Jernigan is) fast enough to stretch the field and does an adequate job of tracking the deep ball but not going to win many jump balls downfield. A bigger threat after the catch than running vertical routes. A shifty open-field runner who lines up at running back and Wildcat quarterback in an effort to get him the ball more. While may not have breakaway speed, does have above-average initial quickness and is fast enough to pick up a chunk of yards when gets a seam."
