Philadelphia Eagles Grab Star Of 2011 NFL Mock Draft

Kiper: Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
McShay: Akeem Ayers, OLB, UCLA
Banks: Gabe Carimi, OT, Wisconsin
Kirwan: Mike Pouncey, G, Florida
Rang: Anthony Castonzo, OT, Boston College
My take: J.J. Watt, DE, Wisconsin

Wowl, no one seems to have a handle on what the Eagles will do!
The choice of a lineman is certainly a possibility--although I don't see anyway that Mike Pouncey survives this late, sorry Mr. Kirwan.
But with the Eagles in a win-now situation, they shouldn't spend a top pick on a position that will likely take a few years to develop to maximum potential. Nothing against Castonzo, or Carimi, but they won't take over Winston Justice spot right away.
Ayers is a possibility because, as McShay knows, they may want "an upgrade on the outside over Moise Fokou, who started 11 games as a second-year player in 2010."
