NFL Mock Draft 2011: Minnesota Vikings Capture Jake Locker for Future Success

The Vikings could go in many different directions with this pick, but the key issue heading into next season is their current quarterback situation.  Joe Webb and Tavaris Jackson are two of the most unattractive quarterbacks in the business, and with Jake Locker available, the Vikings would be nonsensical to pass up Locker.

We realize that Locker didn't exactly live up to the hype prior to his senior season at Washington, but the fact of the matter is that he's the most viable talent available for Minnesota at 12th overall.  Behind a solid offensive line, Locker could go as far as lead the Vikings back to the playoff next season.

Nevertheless, Locker's prototypical size and capabilities are second to none in this draft, and the Vikings must be able to pull the trigger on draft day.
