NFL News and Rumors: Does Blaine Gabbert’s Pro Day Make Him the No. 1 Pick?

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert held his pro day workout on Thursday at the University of Missouri campus. 
One of the top-rated college quarterbacks, Gabbert was looking to solidify a chance at becoming the top selection in April's draft.  Leading up to his pro day, there were reports indicating that the Carolina Panthers preferred Cam Newton to Blaine Gabbert.
There were reports that scouts had a lot of doubts about Gabbert's accuracy both downfield and outside the hash marks.
Gabbert was looking to ease scouts' minds yesterday at his pro day, and he may have done that.  Gabbert completed 44 of 49 passes, mainly from under center, in an attempt to prove that he can play in a pro style offense.
He looked fluid, crisp and accurate.  He put up a slightly better percentage than what Cam Newton put up in his pro day, and was working with receivers that he was not familiar with because of the NFL lockout.
