NFL Odds: San Francisco 49ers Laying More Than a Field Goal to Tampa Bay

Two young quarterbacks lead their teams when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers travel to face the San Francisco 49ers. Each squad is in playoff contention thanks to the play of these two quarterbacks—Josh Freeman of the Bucs and Troy Smith of the 49ers. NFL odds show us the home team has a slight advantage, with a line of San Francisco -3.5 over Tampa Bay with a total set of 41.5 points. 
San Francisco opened the season 0-5, their worst start in 31 years, but Troy Smith has helped get his team back in playoff contention in the weak NFC West division. The 49ers have won three of their last four games, and Smith has started the last two while leading his team to victories in each. Smith is expected to start his third straight game Sunday. After David Carr was terrible in a 23-20 loss to the Panthers three weeks ago while replacing Alex Smith who went out with a separated shoulder, head coach Mike Singletary elected to give Troy Smith the keys to the offense.
