NFL Offseason: Former Pats LB Cox Joins Miami Coaching Staff

February 23, 2011   ·     ·   Jump to comments

Former New England Patriots linebacker Bryan Cox has joined the Miami Dolphins coaching staff as the team's pass rush coach.
Cox played only one season with New England and was a part of one of the greatest upsets in Super Bowl history, the Patriots win over the St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXVI.
In 1991, Cox was a fifth-round draft pick for Miami, where he played for five seasons. After the 2002 season with the New Orleans Saints, Cox decided to hang up his cleats and retire.
Cox was known for being a leader and a linebacker who could get to the quarterback, with 51.5 sacks in his 12 NFL seasons.
The past two seasons for Cox was spent on the Cleveland Browns coaching staff as the team's defensive line coach. Cox also served at the same position with the New York Jets from 2006 through 2008.
