NFL Predictions for 2010 Season: Five Possible Surprise Playoff Teams

One of the truly beautiful aspects of the NFL is the fact that any given season, new teams will emerge as contenders out of nowhere. In 2008, the New Orleans Saints were sitting at home watching the playoffs. In 2009, they won the Super Bowl. The reason for this shift in outcome from year to year is that football is the epitome of a team game. A team with great cohesiveness and chemistry will nearly always trump a team with talent. It's also, to use a tired cliche, a game of inches. All things considered, the difference between a team that is 11-5 and a team that is 8-8 often isn't that significant. With this in mind, here is a list of five teams which I believe may be able to turn their luck around and possibly make the playoffs this season.Begin Slideshow
